Colton Arias is an experienced litigator who joined Mix Sanders Thompson in 2016. A cum laude graduate of Seattle University School of Law, Colton has successfully defended clients in arbitration, jury trials, and the appellate courts, including securing the Washington Court of Appeals, Division I, published opinion in Helmbreck v. McPhee, 15 Wn. App.2d 41 (2020).

Colton’s practice focuses on insurance defense with an emphasis on coverage and extra-contractual claims. He has extensive experience defending against claims asserted under the Washington Insurance Fair Conduct Act (IFCA) and the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), as well as bad faith litigation.

Additionally, his litigation background covers a broad spectrum including personal injury, construction defect, premises liability, and property disputes. Before entering law school, Colton graduated magna cum laude from Eastern Washington University and coached men's basketball at Walla Walla Community College.

In his free time, Colton enjoys traveling and life at home with his wife, Olivia, and their two sons.
